ESPACIO V is a foundation that supports visual art in Latin America through scholarships, awards, educational projects, and exhibitions.

The identity of ESPACIO V is inspired by Geometric Abstraction in Latin America, its graphic radicalism and its need to reflect autonomous and renewal thinking. It is also inspired by ancestral forms of Pre-Columbian art, crafts, and architecture.

For thousands of years, artists around the world have used the earth as part of their creative exploration. Since the first humans, people have used crushed plants, rocks, and minerals to leave written and visual messages, dye materials, and even decorate their bodies.

Cochineal red was known as a dye in Mexico and South America at least as early as the second century B.C. and was used profusely by Precolumbian peoples. It colored special ritual and ceremonial textiles worn by rulers in both Mexico and Peru and was an important tribute item in the medieval economies of Latin America. To connect the core message of ESPACIO V foundation which supports visual art in Latin America, cochineal became the primary signifier color of the brand.
